Readers beware, this post is going to dig into spoiler territory, so if you are interested in Mirai Nikki and haven’t yet read it, go read that before this post! With that introduction, lets proceed to the good stuff.
This series really blurs the line between shonen and seinen manga because it deals with some extremely mature content while, at the same time, it is able to keep the storyline well-paced enough to be entertaining to younger generations. Mirai Nikki is, essentially, Battle Royale with fourteen year old to fifty year old contestants, diaries that predict the future, and bucket-fulls of sweat, blood, tears, emotion and plot. If anyone out there is into psychological thrillers packed with action and mindscrew, this is the perfect story for you. So, like all great manga that I have since read, I must rant about the series that is Mirai Nikki. Unless you’re one of the smarter people out there who actually checked out the chapter titleīut lets move on. Seriously, I knew that MN was comming to an end SOON, but who would have anticipated THIS soon? With only one chapter of…wait, lets see…47 pages? Oh, Esuno Sakae, now that your prime mainstream action-packed mindscrew of a manga is over, we will miss thee.
So the last chapter of Mirai Nikki came out yesterday, finally concluding the series.
